One Voice, One Hope – A National Suicide Prevention Network for the UK

One Voice, One Hope (OVOH) is a national collaborative for suicide prevention, facilitated by The Jordan Legacy. It brings together people across the UK who share one belief: that most suicides are preventable.

Why does the UK need a suicide prevention network?

More than 7,000 people die by suicide in the UK every year, and the numbers have shown no significant fall for almost two decades.

There are pockets of brilliant work happening across the country — but too often, they happen in silos, separated by geography or sector. Only by collaborating can we turn those small pockets of success into a movement that finally moves suicide numbers on a downward trend, towards zero.

Who is part of One Voice, One Hope?

OVOH is being developed by a diverse group of volunteer suicide prevention advocates, including:

  • Grassroots and larger charity leaders
  • NHS professionals
  • Consultants, campaigners and academics
  • And importantly, people with lived experience of mental ill-health and suicide

Most members bring extensive lived experience. The network is facilitated by The Jordan Legacy CIC.

Where did the network come from?

The seeds of One Voice, One Hope were sown in 2024, growing directly out of our research report, "Moving Towards a Zero Suicide Society".

That report mapped what needs to happen for the UK to prevent all preventable suicides. OVOH is how we put those learnings into collective, practical action.

What is the network working on?

A flagship OVOH project is the Good Practices Hub — a first-of-its-kind national resource that will share evidence-based examples of what works in suicide prevention, intervention and postvention across all four nations of the UK.

The project is supported by initial seed funding from The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, whose National Suicide Prevention Network welcomed The Jordan Legacy as an Innovation Partner in 2025.
